My Story

The Longest Day is the day of the year with the most light — the summer solstice. And it's the day that all of the Touchmark communities have committed to fight Alzheimer's disease!


In past years, Touchmark on South Hill has raised funds with a Senior Slip N Slide, a team member Dunk Tank, a Touchstock Music Festival. Last year our donations totaled $4,000!


This year, we are raising funds with a combination of events on the summer solstice: Donuts for Dollars sale with fresh donuts from Spokane's iconic Donut Parade, an afternoon of axe throwing and yard games, and a BBQ Fundraiser Dinner with live music by Kathy Colton & the Reluctants band. We're also requesting registration donation "fees" for our annual Car Show on August 10th, 2024. Thank you to all those who will participate or donate to our cause!

 

Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 6 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 11 million friends and family members are providing their care. While there are just a small number of Touchmark residents living with Alzheimer's and other dementias, the disease impacts our whole community as we care for our loved ones and friends.
