Our Team Story

We've joined the fight to end Alzheimer’s! On June 5th, our local real estate community is participating in a one-of-a-kind event called the Real Estate Rumble. This event is designed to promote fun, team building, and camaraderie for our local real estate industry through an exciting competition of field games for ten participating brokerages to sort out who will be the all-time winner, earning the title of Rumble Champion 2024!

Attached to this event is an emotional and heartfelt mission. We want to make a significant impact on our local community by fundraising to support the good work of the Alzheimer’s Association-The Longest Day. By supporting this mission, you are helping to keep education and programs free for those living with the diagnosis and the caregivers supporting them.

Each one of our teams is honoring a loved one who’s been affected.

Our efforts in all of this are in honor of our leader and dear friend, Carla Northrop's father, Malcolm E. Hicks Sr.

Malcolm was a really strong and loving person, even when he got sick with Alzheimer's for nine years. He worked hard to take care of his family and really loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He enjoyed giving them treats and watching their sports games, cheering loudly for them. Everyone liked him because he was funny and friendly.

When Alzheimer's got worse, it was tough for everyone. At first, it was small stuff like forgetting things, but then it got serious, like getting lost while driving. Our family had to learn a lot about Alzheimer's to take care of him. It was hard to see him struggle with everyday tasks. But in the end, he didn't realize how confused he was, which was a small comfort.

Even though he's gone, the love and happiness he shared, especially with his grandkids, will always be remembered. Malcolm's family strength and familial bond through such a hard time show how strong they are, just like he was.

Many of our family members, friends, clients, and neighbors have either lost their battle or are still struggling through it. The Alzheimer’s Association gives them a way to have a better quality of life through support groups, a 24/7/365 hotline, and spearheading promising research that may one day lead to being able to put an end to the suffering. Will you join the fight with a donation today?

Your donation means so much, to me and all those affected by the disease. On behalf of more than 6 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s and over 11 million caregivers — thank you.
