Our Team Story
Alzheimer’s Stories is a modern cantata that captures glimpses of people’s experience with the disease that is poignant, thought-provoking but ultimately uplifting. The final line of the music reminds us of the power of music in our lives, as the lyrics say, “Sing Anything! Love and music are the last things to go.” It’s been performed by choirs around the world and recently had its Carnegie Hall premiere.
The Oratorio Society of Minnesota, in partnership with the Minnesota and North Dakota Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, will perform this piece with orchestra and a newly created video that accompanies the music. KARE-TV reporter Karla Hult will emcee the concert which features soloists including audience favorite Sarah Lawrence, and a new guest artist, baritone Tommy Glass. The concert will also include additional pieces by Marvin Hamlisch, Richard Rodgers, Harvey Schmidt, Stephen Sondheim, and others. The program will include an opportunity to support the Alzheimer’s Association.
