My Story
This summer, I'm honoring those affected by Alzheimer’s disease by participating in 48 Peaks for the Longest Day, a As a nurse I have worked with many over the years with Alzheimers and know that so much more can be done to prevent and find a cure for this devastating disease. I have personally become impacted by Alzheimers as my father was diagnosed last year.
I will be hiking to the summit of one of New Hampshire’s 4,000ft. peaks in the White Mountains.
In the last two years, we have made monumental progress in the world of treatment against
Alzheimer’s, including the first disease-modifying treatments. But, the fight is far from over. Today, over 50 million people across the world are living with Alzheimer's, including more than 6 million with Alzheimer's and dementia, providing over $287 billion worth of unpaid care. We must take action- now, as these numbers continue to rise.
