Alzheimer's is one of the most heartbreaking and terrifying diseases out there.  Watching your loved one slowly forget who you are is only one of the reasons they call it "the long goodbye".  While it's true I'm dedicating our stream and our fundraiser to everyone who has been impacted by Alzheimer's and Dementia, I'd like to take a moment to talk about my Grandma.

My grandmother, Evelyn Bowery, passed in 2015 after a long six year battle with Alzheimer's.  She was a warm, loving woman who was raised on a farm in rural Missouri with her brother's and sisters.  She worked hard, never complained, and would always be there for you if and when you needed her.  The world was better with her in it, and I think about, and miss her, every day.

For the entire month of June, some friends and I will be streaming video games on Twitch to help raise money towards the search for a cure.  Grandma loved playing the Wii, especially bowling, and while she may not have understood what we are doing, she would have understood the why.  I like to think... I hope... she would be proud.
