I’ve joined the fight to end Alzheimer’s! I’m participating in The Longest Day to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

My personal journey through the challenges of dementia inspired me to become an advocate for Alzheimer's awareness. Despite  my nursing career and expertise, I felt lost and deeply saddened as I witnessed  my mother's gradual decline. I turned to my family, the Alzheimer's Association of NYC,  for strength during those trying times.

 We had some hard days with our mom, and at times, the only way to make things right was to play music and dance, It was our way to connect with Mom when she no longer knew who we were or who I was to her. I hold on to those treasured videos and mental imprints because this woman was my heart.
 The "Dancing for Dementia" event aims to unite the community in celebrating life, health, and the joy of dance. This year's event will a lively discussion with  valuable insights into the positive effects of dance on brain health. Attendees can also look forward to good food, dancing and fun. l
 "Dancing for Dementia" will take place on 9/]6/23 at Community Connection in Queens, New York, from 1 pm to 4 pm. The event is open to all members of the community, and free tickets can be obtained through Eventbrite . Show the cause some love and donation just because you can! All proceeds from the event will go directly to support the Alzheimer's Association of NYC .
