In our journey, we have become increasingly aware of the fact that we are fighting a war with little to no weapons. Most doctors do not have deep knowledge about this disease. It has been an uphill battle trying to get answers. There is a saying with Alzheimers, "Diagnose and Adios"....in other words, we can diagnose you and then see ya later because we know we have nothing for you. Therefore, it has become my passion that I keep stomping and marching forward to bring awareness, help fund for research, and look for better meds and eventually a cure.  

My dear friend, Leslie Lynch and I will continue as volunteer co-chairs for the Central Florida chapter for The Longest Day campaign. The day with the most light is the day we fight the darkness of this disease. The best thing about this campaign, is that you can sign up to create a fundraiser of your liking, and make it work any day of the year you want. It does not have to be on the summer solstice. Matter of fact, this year I plan to do multiple activities, throughout the year. Everyone of those activities will be an effort to raise awareness, first and foremost.

I am asking, actually begging, for your help in the 2024 Longest Day Campaign. Please sign up for your own Longest Day campaign fundraiser. Or join my team. Or simply donate to this cause I am so very passionate about. We should all be passionate. If it has not already affected your life, I know at some point it will. I have lived with a chronic disease for over 30 years with Type 1 Diabetes. It's more than a pain. But we have treatments. We have so many that continue to work on those treatments to make our lives better every day. Doctors usually know a thing or two about the disease. I need this to be true for Alz as well. And I need your help. I will not stop fighting this fight.
