My Story
The Longest Day is the day of the year with the most light -- the summer solstice. And it's the day I have committed to fight Alzheimer's disease! I'm participating with a fundraising event to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
We are hosting a sALZa competition! Who will have the best red? The best green? And who will bring the very best overall??? Join us at Dying Breed Brewery to find out, all while supporting a great cause!
The connection between this event and my family runs deep. Salsa has been a cherished staple in our family since I can remember. In high school, my grandma passed down her secret salsa recipe to me. My dad enthusiastically helped me refine the recipe week after week. He was always the first to taste-test, often diving in before I could finish adding the tomatoes. I'd yell, "I'm still mixing! That's going to be HOT!!!" You won't find a family gathering without the familiar sounds of, "crunch, crunch, CRUNCH"- with the third one always being the loudest.
