On the Longest Day, I am honoring my mom, Dolores 'Dee' Rhode.  Mom loved riding her Honda Cub around town for errands and also on longer trips with my Dad, who rode much bigger bikes!

Her solo riding didn't last long though, she mostly rode passenger with my Dad on his Gold Wing - and they did love to travel on twos!

Even with the effects of Alzheimer's, she remembered and enjoyed talking about riding with my Dad.  She also enjoyed hearing about my riding adventures with Women in the Wind International, which would eventually bring her back full circle to talking about her riding days with Dad.  That was one topic that always made her smile!

My mom passed in October 2017.
