My Story
In 2022 I lost my mom to Alzheimer's. It is a devastating disease with long term effects. It can destroy a family emotionally as well as financially. A cure did not come in my mom's lifetime, but I hope that our efforts today will have a positive impact on someone's life tomorrow.
I had a friend last year ask me if I really thought a cure would be found. I replied that I didn't know but if we are able to help even one family to better care for their loved one then I am satisfied. Unless you have long-term care insurance you are paying a lot of money to have a loved one in a care facility. That is beyond the reach of many people and therefore they must care for their loved one at home. They are caring for a person that is not going to get better and in fact will regress daily and require more and more care. Families need help - they need financial help and that is where we step in.
Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 6 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 11 million friends and family members are providing their care. We must take action now, or these numbers will continue to rise.
Stand up to the darkness of Alzheimer’s and make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease. Thank you!
