My Story

I lost my mother to the effects of Alzheimer's in 2006. She lived with us for the last years of her life, and I witnessed first-hand the devastating results of this disease. I watched my mother, best friend and shopping buddy waste away losing all her memories, desires and abilities to function. It was also an eye-opener for me! I was amazed at the lack of information and support in my community which has a large population of retirees. I decided to go to work to help find a cure. 

Fortunately, an organization I am affiliated with, Alpha Delta Kappa, has pledged their support of the Longest Day. I have been involved since 2017 as the Florida Alpha Delta Kappa Team Captain. This year members across the state will be raising funds in a wide variety of ways.
