Our Team Story
On June 22, 2024, Val and Pete Maio and Alice and Brad Christenson will be participating in the 7th annual Washburn Challenge. Alzheimer's is not slowing down so neither can we! Along with 100 others, we will ride our bikes for 20 miles and then kayak 7 miles out and around Washburn Island, to raise vital funding to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
Our friend and neighbor Stu McLeod founded The Washburn Challenge to honor his sister Sara who was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's at the age of 55. Donating time, money, and energy to the cause - we know Stu and Alzheimer's Association won't stop until a cure is found to help the estimated 50 million people worldwide living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 6 million Americans. The time is NOW to find a cure for Alzheimer's.
Please help us reach our fundraising goal! Your donation will not only help local families facing this disease but will also get us one step closer towards a first survivor. Together we can make a difference!
Shine a light on Alzheimer's and make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease. Thank you for your support!
