My Story
This June I will be participating in the 8th annual Washburn Challenge, a 20-mile bike ride, 7-mile kayak and BBQ celebration, taking place in Falmouth, Cape Cod, benefitting the Alzheimer’s Association. My goal is to raise a minimum of $4,000! My Dad has been fighting Alzheimer’s for 8 years and my Mom has done an amazing job caring for him at home.
All funds raised help provide care and support programs for local families facing this disease, and advance research efforts for a cure.
Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including almost 7 million Americans. In the United States alone, over 11 Million friends and family members are providing their care with an estimated value of $347 Billion. In 2024 Alzheimer’s and other dementias will cost the US more than $360 Billion.
We must take action now, these numbers are rising every year. Shine a light on Alzheimer’s and make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease.
