My Story
This June I will be participating in the 8th annual Washburn Challenge, a 22-mile bike ride, 7-mile kayak and BBQ celebration, taking place in Falmouth, Cape Cod, benefitting the Alzheimer’s Association.
All funds raised help provide care and support programs for local families facing this disease, and advance research efforts for a cure. We know first hand the impact this disease has on families and are excited to be involved in raising funds to start changing the course of treatment and support available.
Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including almost 7 million Americans and that number is expected to almost double over the next 35 years. In the United States alone, over 11 Million friends and family members are providing their care at an estimated cost of $360 Billion.
We must take action now, as these numbers are rising every year.
