Fundraising Progress
My Story
Hi. My name is Mark. My trail name is "Knobbie Hikes" . Recently my mom and dad have died from the same disease. I never have done this "longest day". This year is very different. Both my parents died from dementia. I think with proper knowledge we can beat this. Please help this cause and end this tragic disease. WE CAN DO THIS WITH YOUR HELP!
This summer, I'm honoring those affected by Alzheimer's disease by participating in 48 Peaks for the Longest Day, a fundraising event to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Even a little helps.
I will be hiking to the summit of Galehead Mountain, one of New Hampshire's 4,000ft. peaks in the White Mountains. Please make a donation and help me reach my goal!
In the last two years, we have made monumental progress in the world of treatment against
Alzheimer's, including the first disease-modifying treatments. But, the fight is far from over. Today, over 50 million people across the world are living with Alzheimer's, including more than 6 million Americans. In the U.S. alone, more than 11 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer's and dementia, providing over $287 billion worth of unpaid care. We must take action- now, as these numbers continue to rise.
Together, we can show those facing Alzheimer's disease that they are not alone. Please make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease. Thank you!
