The Longest Day is the day with the most light — the summer solstice. The Fishburn family will come together with thousands of participants from across the world to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s. This year, we will be participating in a fishing derby in honor of Kalie's uncle, Mike Lopa.

Mike was a lover of life. He was a hall of fame football star, a beloved coach and teacher, a talented craftsman, and an avid outdoorsman. Most important, Mike was good and kind, and the love he had for his family and friends was relentless. At the age of 73, Mike passed away after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. 

In his honor and memory, Bryan, Kalie, and Matthew Fishburn will fire up Uncle Mike's 1954 Johnson outboard motor- which he took meticulous care of over many decades- and will spend the day of June 22nd fishing.
