We've joined the fight to end Alzheimer’s! On June 5th, our local real estate community is participating in a one-of-a-kind event called the Real Estate Rumble. This event is designed to promote fun, team building, and camaraderie for our local real estate industry through an exciting competition of field games for ten participating brokerages to sort out who will be the all-time winner, earning the title of Rumble Champion 2024!

Attached to this event is an emotional and heartfelt mission. We want to make a significant impact on our local community by fundraising to support the good work of the Alzheimer’s Association. By supporting this mission, you are helping to keep education and programs free for those living with the diagnosis and the caregivers supporting them.

Each one of our teams is honoring a loved one who’s been affected.

Our team efforts are in honor of John Butschky “Bucky.”  As we reflect on the life of Bucky, before dementia clouded his vibrant spirit, we are filled with bittersweet memories. Bucky epitomized resilience and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew him.

From his roots in Baltimore, Maryland, to his decades-long residency in Bay Hills, Arnold, Bucky was a pillar of his community. With a Navy Reserve stint highlighting his dedication, he pursued a career in land surveying, eventually co-founding Anarex, Inc. His generosity knew no bounds, extending from his family to his employees and beyond.

Bucky's love story with Patricia, spanning six decades, embodied devotion. Yet, as dementia slowly eroded his memories, his innate kindness endured. Even in his darkest moments, he wore a smile and offered gratitude for the simplest gestures.

As the grip of dementia tightened, Bucky's essence remained untarnished. Despite the anguish of losing the love of his life, then suddenly his son, the gradual loss of recognition never affected his gentle demeanor.

On January 26, 2024, Bucky bid farewell, having fought a valiant battle against dementia for over a decade. Though his earthly journey has ended, his legacy of resilience and kindness lives on in our hearts.

Many of our family members, friends, clients, and neighbors have either lost their battle or are still struggling through it. The Alzheimer’s Association gives them a way to have a better quality of life through support groups, a 24/7/365 hotline, and spearheading promising research that may one day lead to being able to put an end to the suffering.
