My Story
Gloria Pfost was a great mom who loved to travel, play bridge and create a variety of delicious dishes that led to her return to college, as an adult, to pursue a degree in Home Economics at IUP. She taught in the Gateway School District and enabled many middle schoolers to gain a vital understanding of nutrition and cooking methods.
Since my mother died in 2014, I have participated annually in fund raising efforts for the Alzheimer's Association (Covid exception). Many of you have supported my efforts and I appreciate your generosity.
This year, once again, I have accepted the challenge to participate in the Pickle for a Purpose Women's Tournament, which involves my competing in a Pickleball Tournament on April 27th in Greensburg, PA. All proceeds benefit the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementia's, including more than 6 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 11 million friends and family members are providing their care.
Please stand up to the darkness of Alzheimer’s and make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing this dreaded disease. Thank you! Lee
