Fundraising Progress
I am
Hiking
to fight Alzheimer's
My Story
I am excited to announce that I will be embarking on a fundraising hike starting mid-June with the goal of completing it in 14 days. I kindly invite you to contribute $16.20 or more towards my fundraising goal. Your support is crucial in our mission to find a cure for this devastating disease.
My fundraising target for 2024 is calculated based on the 162-mile journey from New Jersey to Connecticut along the Appalachian Trail, with a Longest Day Goal of $1,620. Will you join me in making a difference?
A few facts:
Alzheimer's kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.
Nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's.
Over 11 million caregivers provide unpaid care to people living with Alzheimer's and other dementias in the United States.
1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer's or another dementia.
In 2023, caregivers of people living with Alzheimer's and other dementias provided an estimated 18.4 billion hours of unpaid care, a contribution to the nation valued at nearly $350 billion.
In 2024, Alzhiemer's and other dementias will cost the United States $360 billion. By 2050, these costs are expected to reach nearly $1 trillion.
My mother passed away on June 16, 2023 after living with this disease for over 8 years.
