Fundraising Progress
My Story
Hello friends and family,
Once again, I have been training for the LA Marathon 2024 (March 17th, 2024). My dear Mother passed away this past June, so this one is a bit different without her here in the physical. BUT, fueled by the desire to honor my late Mother’s legacy, and to honor my Aunt Carmelita’s ongoing struggle with Dementia, I have to say that I am more motivated than ever to train, fundraise, and run this year for the cause. I know for many of you, the disease hits close to home. My heart goes out to you all. I know as caregivers in any capacity, it can be overwhelming. Would like to make my effort a tribute to you all. I plan to repeat what we did last year, in honoring your loved ones struggling with the disease or the legacy of your loved ones who have passed. Please let me know the names you would like me to include, and I will feature their names on my #endalz Honor List, which I will include in all my communication and fundraising efforts. Honestly, this will fuel me as well. Instead of looking at the race as running 26.2 miles, I will divide the race among all of our honorees, and dedicate a segment of my run to them on race day. Last year, we had 14 honorees, and so, I dedicated just under 2 miles for each of your loved ones.
I truly hope that this can be an encouragement to you all. - it is an honor for me to include them and is not predicated on donating. Although we call attention to the fight against the disease, my goal is to celebrate the light that our loved ones shine on our lives that will forever live! Email, DM, text, FB, IG me the names you’d like me to include- it is an honor for me to include them and is not predicated on donating.
I sincerely thank you for your generous support in previous years, and encourage you to continue to support the Alzheimer’s Association in its vision of a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
With gratitude and love
Ashley
