Our Team Story
Our team has joined the fight to end Alzheimer’s and we need your help! On June 5th, our local real estate community is participating in a one-of-a-kind event called the Real Estate Rumble. This event is designed to promote fun, team building, and camaraderie for our local real estate industry through an exciting competition of field games for ten participating brokerages to sort out who will be the all-time winner, earning the title of Rumble Champion 2024!
Attached to this event is an emotional and heartfelt mission. We want to significantly impact our local community by fundraising to support the good work of the Alzheimer’s Association. By supporting this mission, you are helping to keep education and programs free for those living with the diagnosis and the caregivers supporting them.
Each one of our teams is honoring a loved one who’s been affected.
Our team is honoring the grandmother of our good friend, David Fox, and we are here to share David's story.
My grandmother Hannah, who is still with us today, is and was everyone’s best friend. Before I talk about who she is, I should start with who she was. Hannah was the entire family’s support system & cheerleader. Someone always there for her family & friends & community. She volunteered with the AAC fire dept auxiliary for 40+ years – running fundraisers & holding many roles throughout the years… even making meals in the middle of the night to feed a crew fighting a fire – more times than I can count. She raised an amazing daughter – my mother - & helped raise myself & my brother while our parents worked swing shifts. She was someone always available to talk – no matter what & always available to lend a hand. Hannah was a fantastic cook & excellent gardener and while she doesn’t have much speech ability today – she most definitely lets her opinion be known when I’m “cooking” or tending to the gardening here. Today, we are blessed to see bits of our true “grandma & mom” shine through from time to time, though its less & less every day. Sometimes the bits are her infectious smile or a joke – or offhand comment that we know exactly what she is saying – even if the words don’t completely come out. She still loves to spend as much time as possible with friends & family – even though she really doesn’t know essentially any of us anymore other than a kind or friendly face. She still loves to garden and helps daily maintaining the property with me as she spends this part of her journey at home with me.
The Alzheimer’s Association gives those living with or caring for a loved one with this disease a way to have a better quality of life through support groups, a 24/7/365 hotline, and spearheading promising research that may one day lead to being able to put an end to the suffering.
