My Story
My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 2008. She was able to live alone for a few years in the early phases of the disease but she required 24 hour care for over 7 years. She was very fortunate that she had a loving family willing to invest time and funds to keep her in her own home as long as possible. She moved to a care facility in September of 2017 and passed away on November 7, 2017. It was an amazing (and sometimes very difficult) journey for all of us.
I'm participating in The Longest Day to show my love for all those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. On June 20, I will be doing jigsaw puzzles from sunrise to sunset with a team of avid puzzlers. We will be joining others around the world on that day to honor people living with Alzheimer's, their caregivers, and those lost to the disease. Our goal is to raise funds and awareness to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Please do what you can to help support all of us in raising funds to fight this debilitating disease. On behalf of my mom, my family, and those of us jigsaw puzzling on the Longest Day, thank you very much!!!
