My Story
On June 25, I'm participating in The Longest Day, an event to honor the strength, passion and endurance of those facing Alzheimer's disease. From sunrise to sunset, our club will play bridge complete to raise awareness and funds for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. (OK, June 21 is the official summer solstice, but, being a Tuesday, it doesn't work for all day bridge games. So ACBL is accepting Alzheimer's donations through June 25.)
Today, over 35 million people across the world are living with Alzheimer's, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 15 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer's and dementia. And these numbers will only continue to rise unless we take action.
My mother was taken by Alzheimer's. It was a decade long good bye watching her mind slide away.
Together, we can show those facing Alzheimer's disease they are not alone. You can make a donation here, directly, or at the Fresno Bridge Center.
