is fundraising to honor:
all those facing Alzheimer's
to fight Alzheimer's
The Longest Day is the day of the year with the most light — the summer solstice. We stand up to the darkness of Alzheimer's at this time, using our yoga practice to bring in the light. (The original date was in June, however we had to reschedule because of covid.)
I’m participating in The Longest Day, a fundraising campaign to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association, in honor of my valiant father, Murray. My father was challenged by this brutal disease for many years, yet never lost his sense of humor or his dignity. He was 96 when he passed away nine months ago.
Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 6 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 11 million friends and family members are providing their care. We must take action now, or these numbers will continue to rise.
Please join me for a light-filled joyful practice on September 18th to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease.
If you click on the DONATE button and contribute $30 (or more), you will be on our class list.
I look forward to seeing you on your mat.
