My Story
I will be hiking in memory of my warrior brother, Enzo Simone, to continue on to help end Alzheimer's Disease. We have lost a leader amongst leaders. But we must not stop fighting. He always said take your dream and your passion and make things happen. I also hike for everyone affected by the disease and who care for someone as well. Enzo's motto was "Together is One". As a collective we can make a difference. The "World Up Tour" will follow a group of advocates on the last 100 miles of the Camino de Santiago in July of 2023. Although we begin after the official Longest Day, everyday we advocate.
Being out there hiking, no matter the place, I feel closer to the belief of the first survivor.
The Longest Day is the day with the most light — the summer solstice. On June 21, thousands of participants from across the world come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer's to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, 16 million friends and family members are providing their care. We must take action now, or these numbers will continue to rise.
Stand up to the darkness of Alzheimer’s and make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease. Thank you!
