Fundraising Progress

My Story
Next month I will be participating on the Alzheimer's Association team of the Los Angeles Half-Marathon. Some of you may remember that in March of 2020, the week before Covid-19 caused us to lock down, I ran/walked the LA Half-Marathon to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association. This year I am excited to again participate in The Longest Day -- the day that will bring the most light to those in darkness -- a fundraising event to support the many efforts of the Alzheimer's Association and the research it does on all kinds of dementia. Danny had a colectomy in December and we are learning to incorporate a colostomy bag into our routines. We continue to work together to live the best quality of life we can, knowing how fortunate we are. As we learn more and more about memory, the brain, and the ways in which people afflicted with cognitive impairment of all kinds must navigate relationships and the world at large, the more we care about helping raise funds for research and support. Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, millions of friends and family members are providing care to those living with dementias. We must take action now to stem the tide of these debilitating conditions, or these numbers will simply continue to rise. Stand up to the darkness of Alzheimer’s and make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease. Thank you!
