My Story

The Second Annual Making Memories Classic

I am so excited to bring back my "The Longest Day" project kicked off so successfully last year with the help and support of many friends, family members and lovers of the game of pickleball.  Both of my parents, my father, a smart, witty, driven retired physician and my mother, a woman with the energy, spunk and sense of humor needed to raise six children, passed away a few years back with advanced dementia.  Studies have shown the onset of dementia may be delayed or even avoided entirely by remaining physically and socially active as we age.  Pickleball, played by over 5 million Americans of all ages and still growing in popularity, provides both an excellent work out and great social interaction.  So, I could not think of a better way to honor and memorialize my parents while raising money to fight Alzheimer's Disease and all forms of dementia than by hosting a pickleball tournament fundraiser. Last year's inaugural event was a blast! This year's tournament will again be held in Craig Park, Greenwood, Indiana on July 14-16, 2023. Whether you're interested in playing in the event or just want to come watch and learn more about the sport, join us in beautiful Craig Park for a fun weekend!
