My Story

Alzheimer’s has always been a part of my life. I remember being a little girl and visiting a grandmother I never knew in a nursing home. I remember the smell of the home and the lack of recognition in her eyes. She lived over 15 years with the disease, passing away in 2001. Since then most of my grandmother’s sisters and brothers have suffered from Alzheimer's. Worse, their children have not been spared and I am seeing another generation being taken away.

I am haunted by my grandmother’s eyes and by the fear of “who is next”. So I fight. I fight for my family and for all the families who have and are being effected by this disease. I fight for the over 35 million people across the world who are living with Alzheimer’s today. For the people who no longer have a voice to advocate for themselves.
