My Story
We lost Kevin in December of 2021, just 4 short years after he was diagnosed with Early-Onset Alzheimer's in June of 2017. It was and continues to be a difficult journey, and many days overwhelming. My role of Care Partner shifted quickly to full time Caregiver. It was the most challenging role I have ever had, and I never would have gotten through it with out the love and support of our Krew. We are also thankful for the resources made available to us by the Association and we live by hope that a cure will be realized in our lifetime.
I am participating in The Longest Day, an event to honor the strength, passion and endurance of all caregivers and care partners who tirelessly provide love, support, security and care to their loved ones living with Alzheimer's or other dementia. Through out our journey Kevin amazed me daily with his positive cheerful attitude, even in the face of this disease. From sunrise to sunset, our team will be bending and stretching to raise awareness and funds for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Today, over 35 million people across the world are living with Alzheimer's, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 15 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer's and dementia. And these numbers will only continue to rise unless we take action.
Together, we can show those facing Alzheimer's disease they are not alone. Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research and provide care and support to those facing the disease today.
Thank you for your support,
Tina
