Our Team Story
This June, stand up to the darkness of Alzheimer’s. Join our team for The Longest Day, the day the Alzheimer’s Association calls on everyone to fight Alzheimer’s disease. Together, we'll raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's care, support and research.
The Long Island Longest Day Chess Challenge will involve people playing games of chess all over Long Island, NY, with one goal in mind: to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association. To do this, we are asking participants to either join the team and donate, or to play chess against someone on the team and donate, or simply make a donation. No matter which option you choose, it's a win for the cause!
These chess games can be played over the board (OTB), on a chess app (chess.com, lichess.org, worldchess) or whatever works for you; and they can be played whenever you want up until the close of the event, which will be, for our team, June 30th at midnight. Individual team members can post on their pages if they plan to have public events for people to attend, like a chess meetup at a local café or pub.
Every dollar you give is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
