Semiahmoo SOLSTICE 72 for Caregivers
Our Team Story
The Longest Day is the day of the year with the most light — the summer solstice. And it's the day we have committed to fight Alzheimer's disease! I’m participating in The Longest Day, a fundraising event to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
We chose the longest day because Alzheimer's caregivers must spend very long hours to care for patients. It can be an all day job. So we're going to spend all of our waking hours on the longest day playing golf at Semiahmoo Golf and Country Club. Lucas Burzycki, Shaun Richmond, Jeff Mehlert and Noah Voges have committed to playing at least 72 holes of golf, on foot, in one day.
Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 6 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 11 million friends and family members are providing their care. We must take action now, or these numbers will continue to rise.
Join us by sponsoring one, or more of our golf holes at $25 per hole. We aim to reach $1800 with the support of the amazing Semiahmoo community.
