is fundraising to honor:
Grandma and Aunt Marlene
We lost my grandmother in 1995 and my aunt in 2019 (and my great-grandmother before all that). So, I'm fundraising to help fight this disease.
I'll be running in the Alzheimer's Association's "The Longest Day" event. Usually this event takes place on the summer solstice, the "longest" day. But this year we're doing it virtually for the entire month of June. So, instead of running a 5K on just June 20, I'll be running 5K every day in June around my neighborhood. Heck, let's make it an even 100 miles for the whole month of June.
So, I'm asking my friends and family for donations. Any amount is most appreciated. To sweeten the deal, I'll bake you chocolate chip cookies if you donate $50 or more. (I'm going to need to run 93+ miles to work off all the cookies I'll be eating.).
Thanks for your consideration!
Now the default info...
Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, 16 million friends and family members are providing their care. We must take action now, or these numbers will continue to rise.
Stand up to the darkness of Alzheimer’s and make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease. Thank you!
