My Dad & Future Generations
June 21st is a significant day to me. It's my dad's birthday and this year, if he was still alive, he'd be 96! It's also the longest day of the year — the summer solstice. The day with the most light is the day WE FIGHT! Fight for awareness of this devastating disease and raise funds for research efforts and the immense support given to those with this disease!
My dad, Jack Spitsen, died of dementia complications at the age of 72. Alzheimer's, is a form of dementia, and a term often used synonymously for all forms of dementia. Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, 16 million friends and family members are providing their care. We must take action now, or these numbers will continue to rise.
So on this upcoming Longest Day, June 21,2021, I have committed to fight Alzheimer's disease! I’m participating in The Longest Day, a fundraising event to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. "The Day with the Most Light is the Day We Fight"!
Stand up to the darkness of Alzheimer’s and make a donation today to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease. Thank you!
