Conquer Kilimanjaro and Alzheimer's
Our Team Story
We are honoring "Buddy" Snodgrass, who died of Alzheimer's disease. Buddy was our Dad and Grandfather. He was a great Father and Grandfather, and was a positive role model. "Mr. Snodgrass" was a HS math teacher for 30+ years in Phoenix, AZ, and during that time he had a positive influence of many young people's lives.
To honor his memory, and to raise money for Alzheimer's research, members of our Team will ultimately be climbing Kilimanjaro, 19,341 ft, the highest peak in Africa, this December. But in the meantime, to prepare for this climb, we will be doing several "training" hikes between now and December. We'll kick-off the first of these during the "Longest Day" events this month. This first "training event" will be backpacking in Yosemite NP with a climb of Half Dome. For this first adventure, our Team will be Ralph, his daughter, Angela, and her two children, Ashton and Kyleigh, and Ryan, Ralph's grandson.
There will be other "training" adventures, including climbing Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the continental US. The Team plans to upload pictures, status reports, and possibly real-time updates of all our progress and efforts for all of these adventures. Stay Tuned!
PLEASE join our "Conquer Kilimanjaro and Alzheimer's" Team -- NO, you do not have to climb Kilimanjaro! Stand up to the darkness of Alzheimer’s and join our Team, and invite your friends to join also, to help to raise money for Alzheimer's research! All money you donate goes directly to the Alzheimer's Assoc. Please donate and pass this on to your friends, especially those whose families have been impacted by this disease, and encourage them to donate to the Alzheimer's, and to provide encouragement to our Intrepid Team!
