is fundraising to honor:
my Mom and Dad
The Longest Day is the day of the year with the most light — the summer solstice. And it's the day I have committed to fight Alzheimer's disease! A cycling friend of mine and also a Alz Assoc Board member (replaced me) decided we would incorporate our love of cycling in our fundraising. Historically, I have always participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's.
We have a 65 miles course mapped out to represent the fact every 65 seconds someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
I often think of my dad who died from complications of Alzheimer's over 8 years ago, and my mom, who was his tireless caregiver for over 9 years (who now has Alzheimer's), when I'm riding by myself. Thinking about my legs burning doesn't compare to the pain my parents endured during my dad's illness. It motivates me to keep going.
Please consider supporting our cause to eventually eliminate this disease. Click on my site to donate, or join my team and solicit your own donations, or start your own team. It's all the same fight. As I've said before, if Alzheimer's hasn't affected you yet,,, it will soon. So now, It's Personal!!!
