is fundraising to honor:
all those facing Alzheimer's
For those with Alzheimer's, the world has grown confusing, overwhelming, and maybe even a little frightening. Alzheimer’s Association Memories in the Making® (MIM) is an art program for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias that brings comfort and joy through the process of creating watercolors. After people with dementia have lost the ability to use words, they are often still able to express thoughts and emotions and to share beloved memories through painting. Many of the artists have no previous painting experience, but they discover an innate ability to create beautiful images about who they were and even more importantly…who they continue to be! Their paintings speak volumes to families, friends, caregivers and our community.
Along with the beauty of their artistic expression, MIM builds self-esteem by truly valuing their work, enough so that we have made it available for you to purchase. The artwork may be professionally framed, matted and wrapped or reproduced on a set of note cards. Pikes Peak area MIM artwork will be made available to the community throughout August, September and October 2019. Locations outlined below.
Stand up to the darkness of Alzheimer’s and enjoy some of our beautiful MIM art to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease. Thank you!
