Julie Shepherd- Szczepanek
is fundraising to honor:
Julie┐s mother and aunt
to fight Alzheimer's
The Longest Day is the day of the year with the most light — the summer solstice. And it's the day I have committed to fight Alzheimer's disease! Our family is participating in The Longest Day, a fundraising event to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
This issue impacts our family personally as my mom and her sister are fighting this battle now. I decided to run to raise money, my girls wanted to help and have decided do a bake sale.
Fudgie brownies- $5- 1/2 dozen
Choc. Chip cookies- $5- dozen
Choc dipped coconut macaroons- $5 1/2 dozen
Purple meringues- $5 - 8 cookies
Dog treats- $5 - 18 treats
We will be selling and delivering daily within elmhurst for the next week. Or- if baked goods aren’t your thing- just make a donation. Every dollar helps and because I registered through work my company will match the dollars we fundraise.
This doesn’t just impact our family- nearly everyone I know has been touched by this disease somehow. An estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, 16 million friends and family members are providing their care. We must take action now, or these numbers will continue to rise.
Stand up to the darkness of Alzheimer’s to help the Alzheimer's Association support all those facing the disease. Thank you!
The Power of a Donation
