is fundraising to honor:
My mother, Betsy Walsh.
Once again, "This is Our Life", the Alzheimer's team I joined several years ago, will be fundraising on Saturday, June 15th. From sunrise to sunset on that day, team members will participate in activities of their choosing to honor the daily schedules of Alzheimer's Care Partners. I plan to spend some of my time painting watercolors and engaging in other artistic endeavors with members of our team who suffer from Alzheimer's-related dementias.
Almost everyone knows of someone who has been affected by this disease and its progressive mental deterioration. After suffering for several years from short-term memory loss and dementia, my mother, Betsy Walsh, passed away last September. I will be forever grateful that she lived at The Courtyard at Youville Place, a beautiful memory-care facility in Lexington, where the devoted staff cared for her with kindness and gentleness.
I am asking you to help me reach, and hopefully EXCEED, my goal of raising $2,500 for the Alzheimer's Association. Your support will help this organization in its critical research work and also allow them to offer support to the Care Partners whose daily tasks are physically, emotionally and financially daunting.
Alzheimer's disease has no boundaries; it is a worldwide epidemic, and we need to find a cure now so that my children and my little grandsons, Reid and Jack, will never have to worry about suffering from this horrible disease. Please make a donation today! Thank you so much! Peggy
