Fundraising Honor Roll

About a month ago, I was asked by a colleague, George Bittar to be a dancer at the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Ball. I thought to myself, “this is a great cause, you really enjoy dancing, and with a few thousand lessons, you might be able to pull this off.” Family and friends thought it was a great idea, so here I am, one of the 11 Dancers at the 2023 Memory Ball.

I am a Family Physician who has worked in Baltimore area for the last 30 years. I was part owner of Smaldore Family Practice, serving the Harford County community for over 20 years and now work as an Associate Medical Director with MedStar Family Choice (a Maryland Medicaid Managed Care Organization). As a Family Practice physician, I have had the opportunity to help care for many patients with Alzheimer’s disease. In addition, I have had family and friends who have suffered with Alzheimer’s Disease as wells as other forms of dementia. I am dancing for my family, friends, and patients.

Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer’s, and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.

I am honored to raise money to support the ongoing research into this devastating disease. I hope that you can support this incredible cause and will support me as I journey into the world of ballroom dancing.

Thank you for your support!

As Whitney Houston sang. “Oh, I wanna dance with somebody!”
