Why am I dancing for the Alzheimer's Association? The better question is why aren't all of us dancing for the Alzheimer's Association. One in 10 people aged 65 and older* has some type of Alzheimer's onset.
The benefit of living longer is unfortunately plagued by the fact that roughly ten percent of the aging population is effected by dementia. Chances are you know or know of someone that is impacted by this excruciating and dibilitating disease. Since the mental and not physical state is impacted, familes are often upended by the emotional toll of this disease.
So, here I am, doing my part in honor of and in memory of those family and friends. The time that I have committed for this event is just a small acknowledgement and token to the time and dedication demonstrated by loved ones and family members to those impacted by Alzheimers. Know that I am doing this for you and giving it my all, because that is what you do - you all have given it your all! So, this dance is for you!
