Fundraising Honor Roll

I was born in Jacksonville, FL in 1966 to Joan and Gene Ragan. My family moved back to Columbus in 1969. My father and mother started Ragan Insurance Agency, Inc in that same year. I grew up in Harris County. Since Harris County didn’t have organized youth sports, I played Pop Warner football at Rigdon Park and my last year at Pioneer. I also was a member of the boy’s club in Jordan City. I attended Glenwood from K-12 and graduated in 1985. I then attended and graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1990 with a BBA in Corporate Finance. In 1990 I started at my family’s insurance agency. I was a partner with my father until 2015. I then purchased the agency from him. We have been very fortunate to serve the Chattahoochee Valley/ LaGrange area for 54 years.

I enjoy playing and watching many sports. I have been on the board of Columbus Roadrunners for 12 years. I have enjoyed the running community and what they do for Columbus. That also led me to participate in Run Across Georgia on several teams for 5 years in support of House of Heroes-CVC. I am also a board member now for HOH-CVC. I have also participated in duathlons (run, ride, run) events. Most day you are going to find me at Crossfit CSG. I have always enjoyed strength training and the comradery of the classes. The weekends for in the fall are for Georgia Southern and University of Georgia football. There isn’t anything better than college football season. Last but not least is my 33-year passion/frustration with golf. I keep waiting for the day it gets easy.

I have had many friends that have had to take care of parents and grandparents that suffer from this horrible disease. It is a shame to see such vibrant people robbed of memories and time with their family. I know in some way we have all been touched or will be touched by the disease and its consequences. I ask you to please help me find a cure by donating to the Alzheimer’s Association Dancing with the Stars.
