Fundraising Honor Roll

Jason Dennis is honored to bust a move for this event and raise money to help millions of Americans affected by Alzheimer’s disease. When he’s not dancing, Jason is a husband, father, TV news anchor, faithful church member, and avid marathon runner.

He was born in Galveston TX, grew up in the NC mountains and graduated from Elon College. Jason has been a news anchor or reporter for WTVM-ABC in Columbus for 20 of the last 23 years, currently co-anchoring the news at 5, 6 & 11pm on weeknights, plus FOX 54 news at 10pm. For the last 3 years, Jason has also produced and hosted a weekly podcast called “Run The Race,” focused on fitness and faith. He’s also worked at TV stations in WV and Birmingham AL.

Jason has been married to his beautiful wife Shana, a physical therapist, for nearly 23 years. They have two wonderful teenage children – Olivia and Zachary – both currently in college. The most important things in his life are God and his family.

As a big sports fan who played basketball a lot when he was younger, Jason has been a runner for nearly a decade now. He is trying to run a marathon (26.2 mile race) in all 50 states, and is almost halfway there. Being fit, healthy and encouraging others in that are some of his passions. Dancing is a great way to stay in shape too, and Jason is looking forward to improving. In elementary school, he was part of a clogging (step dancing) group that traveled and performed. And in high school, he was in several musicals.
