A lifelong resident of Savannah, Cale spent much of his teen years living with his grandparents, helping his grandmother care for his grandfather. His grandfather who passed away in 1985, was experiencing the cognitive decline we now attribute to Alzheimer’s. Seeing the effects of Alzheimer’s at a young age left a lasting impression on Cale and instilled in him a desire to help others.
Cale’s desire to always pay it forward has influenced every aspect of his life, including his business ventures and educational pursuits. While operating Club One, Savannah’s premiere dance club and home of the Club One Cabaret, Cale witnessed many of the Club’s bartenders, entertainers, and regulars succumb to the AIDS epidemic in the late 80s and early 90s. During this time, Cale saw how important it is for local businesses to be involved with and give back to their community. For many years, Club One became a prevalent sponsor of the AIDS Walk in Savannah. Club One has hosted countless fundraising events, including its annual Christmas Party. This year, Club One’s Christmas Party will raise money for the 2023 Alzheimer’s Dancing with the Stars Contest.
