Hi, my name is Sue Diamond, I'm 91 years young and I love to dance! Many of my friends call me Super Sue. All my life I have loved to dance and now at parties and balls I am the first to start dancing and the last to leave the floor.
I was born in Atlanta and over the decades I have also lived in St Louis, Iowa, and Texas. I've lived in the Flowery Branch area for the last 15 years.
I graduated Washington Seminary (a girl's school in Atlanta) in 1949 and then attended the University of Georgia for 3 years before leaving to become a flight attendant for Delta Air Lines. While at Georgia I was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
I was married to my first husband Bob for 15 years and we had 3 wonderful children: 2 sons and 1 daughter. I married my second husband Lyle in 1971 and we were married for 45 years before he passed away in 2015. I have 4 granchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Spending time with family is the #1 joy in my life.
I have been employed over many years - in TV advertising as a secretary, at Tour Gals in Atlanta, at Stein Mart Boutique Department, and in a wonderful dental office. I retired about 10 years ago.
I love all music, including country, pop, opera, and musicals - my favorite is anything by Frank Senatra. I'm active in the Buford Lanier Women's Club, University Yacht Club, and Covenant Life Church. In my free time I enjoy playing board and card games, and, of course dancing.
I am participating in Dancing Stars of Atlanta in memory of my dear friends Bill and June Saunders and Marilyn Fisch Putnam. If I had a "super-power" it would be to wave a magic wand and rid the world of Alzheimer's and related mental disorders.
Please consider supporting me with your prayers, your financial treasures (which I will be asking for over the next several months), and attending the fabulous Dancing Stars of Atlanta Gala event at the Cobb Galleria in Atlanta on May 21, 2022.
Finally, I welcome any and all fundraising tips you may have.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering how you may be able to hlep me!
