Events such as this are one of the many things my family and I love about Columbus!
I grew up in Blakely, a small town in Southwest Georgia. I graduated from UGA (Go Dawgs), and then spent 4 years of medical school in Blacksburg, VA. After graduating from medical school, I moved to Columbus, Ohio for my orthopedic surgery residency and fellowship where I specialized in Orthopedic Foot and Ankle surgery. After fellowship, my family and I moved to Columbus, GA in August 2016 after joining and becoming a partner of The Hughston Clinic. My wife, Amanda, and I have 3 precious children Eli (7), Emersyn (5), and Hudson (3). We are members of First Baptist Church Columbus. In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, golfing, being outdoors, spending time with my family, and following collegiate sports, especially my beloved Georgia Bulldogs. We are proud to be raising our family in our home state and have enjoyed getting involved in the Columbus community.
I attended this wonderful event last year for the first time, and was encouraged to see how the community got behind and supported such a wonderful cause. My wife’s grandfather battled dementia before he passed away 2 years ago. Watching this disease take it’s toll on him was heartbreaking, so when given the opportunity to participate in this great cause, I just couldn’t say no. I have no professional dance training whatsoever (although I did play Danny Zuko in our high school musical Grease), so we should all be in for a good time!
I would greatly appreciate your support to help me do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
