Fundraising Honor Roll

Susan has a strong desire to give back to her community. This philanthropic passion is in addition to being a Real Estate Investor.  One of her most important charitable initiatives has been assisting paraplegic and quadriplegic patients from the Shepherd Spinal Center with competitive waterskiing.  During her involvement, each year one or more of the Shepherd group has achieved placement on Team USA and has competed in the World Disable Waterskiing Championship.

Susan currently serves on the Leadership Council for the Arthritis Foundation and chaired their Crystal Ball fundraiser for two years. She recently managed the Pace Academy auction, the school’s largest fundraiser.  Susan served on the board of the Lyric Theatre and chaired their first Gala fundraiser.  In addition, Susan has chaired Dining Out for March of Dimes, as well as, held numerous leadership positions at Pace Academy and the Trinity School.  These included developing and leading community service projects, parent education initiatives and Artist Market fundraising.  Perhaps the most challenging of all jobs was serving as her son’s Cub Scout Leader for 5 years!

Prior to an active volunteer schedule, Susan spent over 20 years in the corporate world as a sales, management and marketing executive with Proctor & Gamble and The Coca-Cola Company.  She earned a BA in marketing and an MBA from UGA.  Susan has found her new commitment to ballroom dancing quite challenging, but very rewarding. In addition to the joy of ballroom dancing, she enjoys competitive water skiing, tennis, yoga, snow skiing and travel.  Susan and her husband, Jim, have one son, Christopher.

After witnessing first hand the agony and sadness of Alzheimers, Susan became passionately committed to this cause. She hopes, with your assistance, to raise funds which will help eliminate this devastating disease that has caused much heartbreak and harmed so many families.  Thank you for your contributions and support as we work together to finding a cure for Alzheimers.
