Mr. Gian C. Taneja was born on November 9, 1943 in India and passed away peacefully on June 11, 2022, in Lansing, MI. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Vik Taneja, who passed away on the same day and date six years prior. We are grateful father and son will be happily together again. Gian was loved by his family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and community. He retired with 50 years of service as a Civil Engineer from the Michigan Department of Transportation; he spoke fondly about his job and colleagues everyday. He was a kind-hearted, patient, generous, loving, forgiving, and compassionate man, who truly enjoyed helping others.
He had a great sense of humor, loved to sing, and gave the best advice. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He adored his wife of almost 53 years and cherished his children and grandchildren. Family was everything to him. He is survived by his wife, Shanta Taneja, and his daughters, Anu Taneja, Seema Taneja (Jacob Mathew), Renu Taneja (Eric Kloeckner), and his sweet grandsons, Krish and Kai Taneja Mathew. His faith and love for God were always present. He will be dearly missed and in our hearts forever.
