Mary Ann Plocinik, 78, of Somerset, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 15, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson, New Brunswick, NJ.
Born in Mahanoy Plane, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel McCarthy and Anna Kerrigan.
She graduated from Mahanoy Area High School and worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at the State House in Harrisburg prior to getting married to her sweetheart and best friend, Tom in 1964.
Mary shared an infectious kindness and generosity of spirit wherever she went. Her greatest joy was in caring for her family and raising her two daughters. She cherished and doted on her five grandchildren with great devotion.
Mary was deeply committed to her Catholic faith. As a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville, NJ, she always attended daily Mass and was a member of the daily prayer group an avid prayer of the rosary. She was especially proud of her grandson Christopher who is a seminarian at Mount St. Mary's.
She enjoyed traveling, trips to the shore, and going out to dinner, but most of all she enjoyed spending time talking and laughing with her family and friends. She adored her family near and far and looked forward to her frequent visits.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved brothers Stephen and Philip McCarthy as well as her son in law, Michael Tillotson. She is survived by her husband Thomas Plocinik to whom she was married 57 years and daughters Diane Tillotson of Bloomfield, CT and Julie Moore and her husband James of Alexandria, VA and her five grandchildren, Erica and Christopher Tillotson and Camilla, Phoebe and Finn Moore.
We hope you will join us in celebrating Mary's wonderful life with a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association on their mission to eliminate Alzheimer's disease and provide the best care and support to those living with Alzheimer's.
