In 2014 I lost my father to early onset Alzheimer's disease when he was 73 years old. I have many friends who are also impacted by the disease. If you have been touched by this disease then you know how disastrous this diagnosis can be for not only the patient, but the loved ones caring for them. It is a long an arduous road for all involved.
The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia - by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
My father loved the mountains, and gave me my first book about mountaineering "Into Thin Air" when I was in high school. In June 2022 I will attempt to summit North America's highest peak - Denali.
