Eva Jacob was diagnosed in 2021 with Alzheimer's. She has been moved to a great facility (near her son Roland's home) to care for her daily needs. Although she has been there for 6 months she thinks she has only been there for a week (maybe a blessing in disguise). Oma hasn't forgotten who we are. The best parts of her day are viewing photos on her iPad of both great granddaughters, Eva & Ella.
The past 6 months may seem to be a blur from day to day for her. Every time we ask her how her dinner was it's the same meal; mashed potatoes, beef pot roast and she takes note if they skip bringing her dessert. Funny what one remembers.
Oma's stubborn ways have not gone far, she still asks everyday when she's going home, but in the same sentence lets us know everyone is so nice and she has no complaints!
